Let's connect: If you want to experience how things are done in the Run Off Solutions team at our headquarters in Hanover / Germany, join us on a temporary basis for 29 months, commencing as soon as possible as an Economist Run Off Management.
Our team, which reports directly to the Executive Board, focuses exclusively on the run off of Hannover Re Group's reinsurance contract portfolios - the legacy business - and how this can best be organised for the mutual benefit of our customers and Hannover Re Group entities. Using sophisticated strategies and targeted measures to deal with such legacy portfolios, we not only reduce the liability risk but also optimise the utilisation of loss reserves in order to recycle tied up capital into new opportunities and to save costs. Furthermore, our specialist team serves as the Centre of Competence for run off management across the entire worldwide Hannover Re Group.
You can look forward to
- Structuring and negotiation of commutations
- Collecting outstanding receivables, also through commutations or setoffs
- Reduction of reserves and closure of contracts
- Portfolio transfers
- Filing of claims in formal proceedings such as insolvencies
- Contributing to the design of run off concepts, strategies, work tools, guidelines, processes, reporting, among many other things
You come equipped with
- University degree or equivalent in business administration, economics, business law or law
- Ideally several years of experience in primary insurance or reinsurance
- Very good understanding of numbers, analytical thinking as well as a precise and structured way of working
- Well-versed in the use of standard software applications and the willingness to familiarise yourself with data warehouse applications and analytics systems (including Bl, SAP FS-RI)
- IT affinity and activities in run off management, in particular commutations, are an advantage
- Strong negotiating skills and experience in working in self-organised teams
- German and English at a business fluent level
