Let's connect: If you want to experience how things are done in the Actuarial Models & Systems team at our headquarters in Hannover / Germany, join us on a permanent basis, commencing at the earliest possible date as an Actuarial Engineer. As part of Finance Global Services, we develop the technological infrastructure on which Hannover Re relies to produce its actuarial calculations and reports worldwide. You can look forward to

  • Develop and maintain our actuarial systems landscape, with a focus on stability, modernisation, and the continuous improvement of core functionalities
  • Automate calculation, reporting, and deployment processes using modern engineering practices such as CI/CD, automated testing, and modular architectures
  • Shape strategic transformation initiatives aimed at creating a unified and future-ready actuarial platform
  • Design and develop a modern, scalable, and maintainable actuarial technology environment based on API-first principles
  • Support users worldwide through training sessions, knowledge-sharing initiatives, and workshops

You come equipped with

  • A Master's degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, or a comparable field of study
  • Initial professional experience in actuarial science, software development, or the (re)insurance industry
  • Strong programming skills in C#, C++, Python, or a comparable programming language
  • Solid SQL expertise and experience applying software design principles
  • A willingness to build business knowledge to effectively support and advise stakeholders
  • Business-fluent English and conversational German
  • Strong conceptual and analytical thinking skills
  • Confidence in interacting with internal and external stakeholders
  • A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for shaping solutions together
