Let's connect: If you want to experience how things are done in the Organisational Development & Governance team at our headquarters in Hannover / Germany, join us on a permanent basis, commencing at the earliest possible date as a Data Governance Specialist

You will play a key role in strengthening our global data governance capabilities and enabling trusted, well-managed data across the organisation. Acting at the intersection of business, IT, analytics and governance, you will translate data governance principles into practical standards, clear ownership models and deliverable improvements that create measurable business value.  #LI-DNI 

You can look forward to

  • Develop, implement and continuously improve our fit for purpose data governance frameworks, standards and processes aligned with business and corporate objectives
  • Define and support clear data ownership, stewardship roles, decision rights and accountability structures across business domains
  • Drive data quality, metadata, lineage and data documentation initiatives to increase transparency, reliability and usability of data assets
  • Work closely with stakeholders from business, IT, analytics, compliance and management to understand needs, resolve governance issues and align priorities
  • Facilitate governance meetings, workshops and decision forums, preparing clear recommendations and documentation for senior stakeholders
  • Plan, coordinate and deliver data governance initiatives from concept to implementation, ensuring tangible outcomes and sustainable adoption
  • Promote data literacy and governance awareness through communication, guidance and enablement activities across the organisation

You come equipped with

  • Degree in Business Informatics, Data Management, Data Science, Business Administration or a comparable qualification
  • Professional experience in data governance, data management, data quality, data strategy or a related field
  • Understanding of data governance frameworks, data ownership models, metadata management, data quality and regulatory requirements
  • Experience with data catalogues, documentation tools, BI platforms or SQL is an advantage
  • Proficient user skills in English and German
  • Excellent communication, moderation and stakeholder management skills, with confidence in working across functions and seniority levels
  • Strong conceptual and analytical thinking, combined with a pragmatic delivery mindset and the ability to turn governance concepts into workable solutions
