Let's connect: If you want to experience how things are done in the Retrocessions & Capital Markets - Insurance-Linked Securities team at our headquarters in Hannover / Germany, join us on a permanent basis, commencing at the earliest possible date as a Mathematician / Physicist Catastrophe Bonds.
The Insurance-Linked Securities department serves as a transformer, facilitating the transfer of life and non-life (re)insurance risks to institutional investors. This includes not only the transfer of risks to the capital markets in the form of catastrophe bonds but also the transfer of reinsurance portfolios to individual investors.
You can look forward to
- You analyse and evaluate risks associated with natural catastrophes, also in relation to a fund investing in catastrophe (CAT) bonds and make a vital contribution to the successful development of business
- You work in close collaboration with Risk Management to assess the potential for losses for the unit from natural perils
- You are involved in a diverse range of projects in which we transform insurance risks to cat bonds so as to protect our customers against natural disasters
- With the support of your colleagues, you draw up contracts and cultivate existing customer relationships
- You coordinate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth processes
You come equipped with
- Successfully completed science degree in (business) mathematics, physics, statistics or comparable qualification with a quantitative orientation
- Ideally initial hands-on experience in the insurance or banking sector or in risk management
- Proficient user skills in English (level C1/C2) and independent user skills in German (at least level B2) combined with a flair for communication
- Ability to prepare complex issues for specific target groups and present them to internal and external customers
- Very good head for numbers, keen eye for detail, an analytical mindset and enthusiasm for interdisciplinary collaboration – we will teach you everything else you need to know!
