Let's connect: Join our MB52 DACHI department in Hannover, Germany, on a permanent basis at the earliest possible date as a Senior Underwriter. The MB52 department manages a diversified reinsurance portfolio with treaty business from Italy, Switzerland, Austria, as well as parts of the German market.

 

As part of our team, you will work closely with experienced colleagues in an international environment and actively contribute your expertise. Together, we combine market insight, analytical excellence, and a collaborative approach to develop sustainable and profitable reinsurance solutions.

You can look forward to

  • Personal responsibility and strategic development of an international reinsurance portfolio of German cedants
  • Building, maintaining and further developing strong client relationships at decision-maker level, as well as actively expanding your market network
  • Managing the entire underwriting process - from risk assessment and pricing through to contract structuring and negotiations with cedants and brokers
  • Developing tailored reinsurance solutions, taking into account profitability and capital efficiency, as well as actively contributing to and implementing the underwriting strategy within the MB52 department
  • Analysing portfolios, markets and competitive environments to derive sound decisions
  • Providing professional support and contributing to the development of team members

You come equipped with

  • Degree in business administration, (business) mathematics, law or a comparable qualification
  • Several years of experience in the (re)insurance industry, ideally in underwriting
  •  Experience in independently managing portfolios and international client relationships
  • Substantial knowledge of risk assessment, pricing and contract structuring, combined with strong analytical skills
  • Business-fluent in German and English, with the ability to communicate clearly, precisely and appropriately in international negotiation settings
  • Entrepreneurial and client-focused mindset, combined with the ability to make sound decisions and present arguments convincingly at all levels
