Team Manager Compliance Sanctions Law
Let's connect: If you want to experience how things are done in the GLS Compliance Sanctions Legal team at our headquarters in Hannover / Germany, join us on a permanent basis, commencing at the earliest possible date as a Team Manager Compliance Sanctions Law. The team focuses on, among other things, sanctions screening and specifically second-level case management and the evaluation of further sanctions-related legal issues. This includes, for example, checking legal wordings with regard to sanctions.
You can look forward to
- Team Leadership & Development: You lead and mentor the Compliance Sanctions Legal team, supporting second-level case managers and legal staff.
- Decision-Making & Risk Assessment: You evaluate sanctions screening alerts at the second level and make critical compliance decisions.
- Legal Expertise: You assess embargo-related legal issues affecting reinsurance protection and claims settlement.
- Process & Compliance Oversight: You ensure operational processes run smoothly and in line with our internal policies and global regulations.
You come equipped with
- A degree in law, providing you with the expertise to navigate complex compliance matters or a comparable qualification
- Several years of hands-on experience in sanctions screening, whether as a lawyer, in-house counsel, legal consultant, compliance manager, or specialist in sanctions law
- Leadership Potential – Experience in team leadership is a plus but not mandatory
- Strong tech skills and you know how to use sanctions screening Tools and research databases efficiently
- Business-fluent German and English skills
- Willingness to travel internationally occasionally
- Deep knowledge of sanctions regulations and a strong analytical mindset to assess risks accurately
- A collaborative approach and enthusiasm for agile working methods make you a perfect fit for our team
