Let's connect: If you want to experience how things are done in the Facultative Reinsurance Division 8 team at our headquarters in Hannover / Germany, join us on a permanent basis, commencing 01.10.2026 as a Trainee Economics Property & Casualty.

In our 21‑month trainee programme, you will have the opportunity to complete rotations tailored to your strengths and interests across various internationally active facultative underwriting teams and one treaty department. Throughout the programme, you will be supported by our experienced colleagues and develop your skills through selected training courses, specialist seminars and project work. Not only will you gain extensive knowledge of insurance, e.g. lines of business, policies and risks, but you will also expand your personal, interdisciplinary skills. This will allow you to identify your talents more closely, gain in-depth insights into our products and processes and familiarise yourself with the the full spectrum of facultative non-life reinsurance. You can look forward to

  • Gain exciting insights into underwriting procedures, risk analyses and the insurance market
  • Get to know the day-to-day business of the various departments, such as client management and the application of control instruments
  • Take on tasks independently and work on projects, during which you will be closely supported by your mentor throughout the entire period 
  • Gain experience at our international locations during two stays abroad lasting several months
  • Take part in special trainee events and build up a global network in the process

You come equipped with

  • Excellent master´s degree in business administration, economics, business law or engineering (civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering)
  • Initial practical experience in the financial services industry or training in insurance or banking is advantageous
  • Experience abroad, e.g. through semesters abroad, language trips, work & travel programmes desirable  
  • Proficient user skills in English and knowledge of German and other languages desirable
  • You bring curiosity, openness and a strong motivation to keep developing, approach change with an open mind and grow step by step through your experience
