Underwriter Credit, Surety, Political Risks
Let's connect: If you want to experience how things are done in the Credit, Surety and Political Risk team at our headquarters in Hannover / Germany, join us on a permanent basis, commencing at the earliest possible date as an Underwriter Credit, Surety, Political Risks. The department has worldwide responsibility for credit, surety and political risk business (obligatory and facultative reinsurance) and maintains treaty relationships with around 300 customers in more than 50 countries.
You can look forward to
- Modeling and Pricing: Taking political developments and economic conditions into account, you design customized reinsurance contracts or covers for our clients (primary insurers) and also determine the premiums.
- Contract Management: You regularly review existing contracts to ensure that the terms always provide our clients with the best possible protection and effectively cover risks.
- Business Relationship Management: You maintain long-term relationships with our international business partners from North America, Central, Northern, Eastern, and Southern Europe, as well as Africa (MENA), and regularly meet them in person.
- Trend Scouting: You attend industry events and conferences and also give presentations yourself.
- Project Management: You work in interdisciplinary project teams with the goal of continuously optimizing our business processes.
You come equipped with
- Completed commercial Bachelor's or Master's degree (e.g., in Economics, Business Administration, Banking, Finance) or a comparable qualification (e.g., certified insurance specialist)
- Ideally, professional experience in the finance or insurance industry
- Business-fluent English and advanced German required; French and/or Italian skills are desirable
- International experience (e.g., through a semester abroad) is an advantage
- Willingness to undertake occasional international business trips
- International mindset, negotiation skills, affinity for numbers, and enthusiasm for securing our market position among the top reinsurers
