In this role, you underwrite reinsurance contracts worldwide and transfer the risks to investment funds. In addition to your core responsibilities as an underwriter, you actively contribute to the automation of our processes in close collaboration with Hannover Re’s IT team.

You can look forward to

  • You underwrite reinsurance contracts and transfer risks to investment funds
  • You ensure that the funds provide sufficient collateral and that all regulatory requirements are met
  • You communicate regularly with business partners, reinsurance brokers and fund managers worldwide
  • You develop and negotiate fronting and risk transfer agreements and take responsibility for their ongoing monitoring and control
  • You identify opportunities for automation in underwriting, define the related technical requirements and independently implement process automations
  • You work closely with IT, who support you in implementing and further developing technical solutions
  • You contribute your experience to make processes more efficient – from structured data preparation to workflow automation

You come equipped with

  • A completed Master’s degree in (Business) Computer Science, Economics, Business Administration or a comparable field, ideally with a focus on technical topics or data processes
  • Relevant professional experience in underwriting in primary insurance or reinsurance, preferably in a fronting environment
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex topics and technical requirements clearly between business teams and IT
  • A strong interest in process automation, digitalisation and technical optimisation, supported by proven results or project experience
  • Fluent English skills and German at least at conversational level, combined with excellent communication skills
  • You are open to feedback and ready to discuss new ideas and decisions with others, adapting flexibly to changing requirements
