Let's connect: If you want to experience how things are done in the GTO-FGS-SDA Client Accounting Data Onboarding team at our headquarters in Hannover / Germany, join us on a temporary, part-time basis (roughly 19 HPW) for 24 months, commencing as soon as possible as a Working Student Data Engineering & Analytics.

Our team plays an active role in shaping the global development of digital processes and systems in the reinsurance environment. We focus on automation, quality and international collaboration to continuously improve our standards and workflows.

You can look forward to

  • Supporting the further development of our new Python-based analytics system
  • Extending backend services based on FastAPI for data processing and provisioning
  • Optimising interactive dashboards using Dash for data analysis and comparison
  • Implementing and enhancing data pipelines to integrate various data sources (e.g. SAP, Oracle)
  • Working with relational databases (PostgreSQL), including data modelling and performance optimisation
  • Analysing deviations and reviewing automated calculation logic in close collaboration with the business teams

You come equipped with

  • Ongoing advanced studies in Computer Science, Business Informatics or a comparable field
  • Very good knowledge of Python, particularly in object-oriented programming (OOP)
  • Confident handling of SQL and a solid understanding of relational databases
  • Initial experience with APIs or backend frameworks such as FastAPI, as well as data processing (e.g. pandas)
  • Basic understanding of modern software architectures (e.g. microservices, domain-driven design, hexagonal architecture) and workflow orchestration (e.g. Apache Airflow) is an advantage
  • Proficient user skills in German and English, combined with strong communication and presentation abilities
  • A structured way of working, analytical skills and the motivation to work with modern tools such as Polars and to understand technical solutions in a business context
