Job Summary:

The Filing Analyst has responsibility and independent accountability for the timely and accurate execution of Glencar’s rate, rule, and form filings, with normal oversight from senior management. The position, in coordination and cooperation with carrier partners, is directly responsible for the routine, accurate and timely creation and delivery of Program filings as directed by Glencar management. Along with ensuring that business underwritten by Glencar and on behalf of its carrier partners, complies with the laws and directives enforced by state departments of insurance and other regulatory bodies. The Filing Analyst will provide technical guidance on regulatory, and compliance matters for Glencar management and its Program Managers.  The position will report directly to the Chief Underwriting Officer. 

Essential Functions:

  • (50%) Prepare, submit, and maintain state rate, rule and form filings. Ensure all filings comply with state DOI requirements, laws and regulatory requirements. Monitor and interpret state regulatory bulletins. Track filing status and respond to regulatory objections. Conduct research on competitor filing and market trends.
  • (25%) Review policy forms, endorsements and rating materials for accuracy, consistency, and compliance. Ensure proper implementation of the approved filings for internal and external systems. Collaborate with IT, underwriting and operations to ensure proper alignments with approved filings.
  • (15%) Effectively collaborate with program managers, company management, and other involved parties to ensure compliance with the laws and directives enforced by state departments of insurance and other regulatory bodies. Provide internal guidance and training on filing protocols and specific mandates. 
  • (10%) Assist with Data Call Filings. Coordinate with state regulators and internal teams to collect, validate and submit accurate company data.

Essential knowledge skills and abilities:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of experience in state regulatory filings in a Commercial Lines Property & Casualty insurance environment.  Industry certifications and designations are desirable.
  • Demonstrable skills with Internet and data research tools, MS Office, and similar business software applications.
  • Knowledge of Commercial Lines insurance, including the following lines of business:  property, inland marine, general liability, commercial auto, workers' compensation, professional liability, and umbrella.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines

Travel:

  • 10% This position may require up to 10% travel within the continental US, with possible, occasional travle to foreign countries

Total Compensation (Inclusive of Base + Bonus):

  • $88,100 - $119,300
