You can look forward to
Financial Planning - Involvement in the entire IFRS 17 financial planning process and integration with the capital model
Capital and ORSA - Assisting with the entire process surrounding local regulatory capital (SAM) and ORSA calculations
Reserving - Assisting the Compass Insure reserving team during key valuations, ultimately involving the determination of key reserve components across SAM and IFRS17 bases
Reinsurance optimisation - For the businesses comprehensive reinsurance structures, assisting with fulfilling key reinsurance modelling considerations ahead of renewals
Stakeholder engagement - reporting for and engaging with various internal and external stakeholders across the areas of responsibility
Data and data quality within the ambit of the role
You come equipped with
• Degree in Actuarial Science
• Preferably completion of ASSA A1 & A2 Technical exams / IFoA equivalent
• Minimum 3 years of non-life insurance experience within the Capital
• Knowledge of technical requirements in short term insurance or reinsurance surrounding SAM valuation principles
• Proven track record of the application of actuarial principles and methods
• Knowledge of the South African Regulatory environment for non-life insurers
• Demonstrated ability to distil and communicate complex financial information and reports to various parties
• Ability to critically assess and review own work
• Computer skills – Advanced MS Office, Intermediate to advanced proficiency in SQL and Power BI
• Proficient in English
