We are seeking a General Manager, Head of Life & Health based in Malaysian Branch reporting to the branch Chief Executive Officer and functionally reporting to the Director, Business Centre Head Life & Health Southern & Eastern Asia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Life & Health (L&H) Malaysia team to achieve high engagement and performance at all levels, while creating and maintaining an environment of respect and trust.
  • Develop, implement and execute a L&H Malaysia strategy, in alignment with the group strategy and the global L&H strategy.
  • Ensure the development, pricing, onboarding and management of L&H business with a focus on sustainable profits.
  • Ensure strong client relationships and a clear value proposition.
  • Ensure excellent collaboration with all stakeholders including group functions, other teams in the Malaysian Branch (by being a member of the Malaysian Branch ExCo) or other Hannover Re offices, local regulatory bodies and external auditors.

Job Requirements

  • At least 10 years Life & Health experience in senior industry roles including significant experience in reinsurance business development, pricing and in-force management.
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on empowerment, accountability, talent development and collaboration as well the capability to develop and motivate high performing teams.
  • Strong ability to define a strategy and vision, and to empower and guide others to achieve common goals.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to navigate complex relationships.
  • Excellent understanding of South-East Asian culture and ability to communicate easily with all stakeholders.
