Hannover Retakaful Labuan Branch is looking for a senior actuarial analyst to join their Life & Health team, which is based in its co-located office in Kuala Lumpur. If you have business underwriting experience and/or have an actuarial background, then this position is for you.

You can look forward to

  • Work together with the Team Lead and General Manager of Life & Health on business development in the responsible markets of the Labuan Branch, primarily Malaysia and Indonesia.
  • Play an active role in developing new products and solutions in line with client and market requirements
  • Develop and maintain experience studies and best estimates by lines of business
  • Develop and enhance processes for in-force management
  • Refine and develop internal pricing models and assumptions
  • Keep abreast of changing regulations and execute business opportunities
  • Take on special projects or assignments
  • Managing client relationships
  • Maintain close contact and share market and product experience with other local L&H teams

You come equipped with

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • At least 5 years of life insurance/Takaful/reinsurance/retakaful experience
  • Actuarial qualification (ASA/AIA or FSA/FIA) would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of IFRS17 would be a plus
  • Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks and responsibilities
  • Strong cash flow modelling skills and experience with Microsoft Excel, VBA, Microsoft Word and Powerpoint
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Willingness to learn and explore non-traditional reinsurance arrangements
