We are currently hiring an Underwriting Services Intern to support our Underwriting Services team. This internship offers you the opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to the reinsurance industry, financial analysis, IFRS 17-reporting, and actuarial processes.

You can look forward to

  • Support a project analysing how reinsurance treaty terms impact financial results under IFRS 17. The role involves excel modelling, basic financial analysis, and tracing of the P&L of actual reinsurance treaty(s)
  • Develop practical understanding of reinsurance operations, treaty structures, financial reporting and valuation processes within the reinsurance industry.
  • Opportunity to gain exposure to reinsurance pricing work by supporting research and analysis of macroeconomic and inflation assumptions across multiple geographies
  • Support project work and ad-hoc tasks as needed.

You come equipped with

  • A degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
  • Strong Excel skills with a logical and analytical mindset.
  • Basic accounting knowledge and understanding of financial statements, including revenue, profit, and cash flow concepts.
  • Exposure through coursework or projects related to insurance/reinsurance, actuarial science, or financial reporting.
  • Programming proficiency in Excel VBA/Python/SQL/Power BI/R is a plus, along with a foundational understanding of insurance/reinsurance concepts.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
