We currently have an exciting opportunity in our Mumbai Branch which plays a major part in the success of Hannover Re globally. We are seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the Finance, Investments Operations, Claims and IT functions to shape the financial and strategic architecture for long-term value. The role will be a permanent position reporting directly to our Branch Manager.

You can look forward to

  • Strategic Oversight: Provide overall leadership for the Finance, Investments Operations, Claims, and IT functions of the branch
  • Financial Governance: Oversee the preparation, review, and sign-off of financial statements, management reports, and regulatory submissions
  • Financial Planning: Drive the budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to the Board and Corporate Office
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong external relationships with auditors, regulators (including IRDAI), statutory authorities, and financial service providers
  • Process Optimization: Lead initiatives for process improvement, automation, and efficiency enhancement, minimizing manual interventions
  • Financial Monitoring: Ensure regulatory compliance and robust internal controls across all financial operations

You come equipped with

  • A degree as Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA), preferably with additional qualifications such as CFA or equivalent
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in the insurance or financial services sector
  • A strong understanding of the insurance market, financial management, and regulatory environment
  • Proficiency in Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, MicroStrategy), data-driven reporting as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proven leadership in team development and cross-functional collaboration with strong stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong ethics, leadership, and operational excellence in dynamic environments
  • Demonstrated expertise in project management
