Job Summary:
This position is responsible for the management of the Life Solutions Traditional Solutions (Acquired & Growth) financial analyst team, and all technical accounting aspects of the quarterly reporting and accounting of the business. This position consolidates, reviews, and reports on quarterly financial analysis packages that clearly articulate results of the US Statutory, IFRS, Solvency II and Bermuda's EBS perspectives. The role is required to be fully conversant with multiple treaty arrangements, including complex inter-company retrocession deals. This role includes coordination/interaction with external auditors, internal audit and MAR compliance departments as needed in support of annual and interim audit and internal controls testing activities. Ongoing evaluation and implementation of process enhancements, strengthening of internal controls as well as staff development and coaching are also key requirements of this position.
Essential Functions:
(40%) Manages the Life Solutions Traditional (acquired and growth) financial analyst team to ensure efficient and effective performance and workflow management to meet time requirements of the business for US Statutory, IFRS, Solvency II & EBS reporting. Manage the quarterly TPA accounting and reporting requirements for the agreement with Resolution Life.
(30%) Directs the calculation and preparation of Life Solutions Traditional (acquired & growth) quarterly technical accounting for assumed business and third party and internal retrocessions for accurate reporting of financial results. Documents & disseminates US Stat, IFRS, Sol II & EBS results with clear explanations of prior period variances to FRV actuarial, management, internal and external auditors.
(15%) Partner closely with other departments and team members regarding treaty activity and reporting, and provide support in process enhancement initiatives as required. Review outputs from the Sage and premium reporting team to ensure accurate reporting of financial results. Consolidate actuarial and accounting forecast and non technical explanations for LST Monitor the Treaty Assignment Form process to ensure that NAIC, IFRS, Sol II and EBS guidelines are followed. Understand and handle accounting side of ad hoc bookings needed related to one-off items
(15%) Identify and implement process improvements including automation and enhanced controls to increase accuracy and efficiency in an ongoing manner. Collaborates as needed within the organization on special projects and initiatives

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of experience in financial service organizations, insurance experience highly desirable
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills
• Broad range of financial analysis and planning exposure
• Strong familiarity with US Stat and US GAAP, IFRS, Solvency II and Bermuda EBX accounting
• Demonstrated success in financial accounting management
• Excellent written and oral communication skills – ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with individuals across all levels / departments of the organization.
• Highly organized in managing multiple tasks under varied timelines
• Advanced experience with general ledger and accounting software packages
• Competent in Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, Hyperion, PowerBI or equivalent systems
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- CPA and / or MBA designation or equivalent
- Experience with development, implementation and maintenance of financial controls
- Possesses a high level of understanding of financial statements and ability to analyze their content
Travel:
5% Between local offices (domestic) with overnight stays
Compensation (Inclusive of Base + Bonus):
$130,400 - $176,400
