As an Accountant I, you will play a crucial role in maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, and analyzing financial data for Hannover Life Reassurance Company of America (HLRUS), Hannover Life Reassurance Company of  America (Bermuda) Ltd, (HLRAB), Sand Lake Re, (HLRSL), Kubera Insurance (SAC) Ltd (HLRKB, HLRKS), and support the Resolution Life (SLD,SLDI), and Scottish Re (US) (SRUS,SRLC) third party agreements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and regulations. This role demands attention to detail, and analytical skills, and proficiency in accounting software and tools. 

Essential Functions:

  • (25%) Prepare and maintain financial records, including general ledger accounts, financial reports. Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable and receivable, and other financial accounts. Process all technical disbursements for HLRUS, HLRAB, SLRE, SLD, SLDI, SRUS, and SRLC. Maintain and update wire log. Maintain Wells Fargo wire template log.
  • (25%) Conduct regular reconciliations of bank statement, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Identify and rectify discrepancies, investigating and resolving any issues. Assist in the preparation of daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Provide support analysis of financial data to aid decision making processes.
  • (25%) Maintain accurate and organized records including invoices, payment documentation and correspondence. File and archive documents in accordance with company procedures. Update vendor records, add new vendors, maintain the master vendor record file. Collect all necessary tax documentation. Assist with financial reporting requirements for tax filings.
  • (10%) Collaborate with internal teams to support financial audits and provide necessary documentation. Provide support for special projects and initiatives assigned by management.
  • (5%) Stay informed about relevant accounting principles, laws, and regulations. Ensure compliance with internal policies external regulations in all financial activities.
  • (5%) Communicate effectively with team members, department heads, and external stakeholders regarding financial matters. Respond to inquiries and provide financial information as needed.
  • (5%) Identify opportunities for process improvement within the accounting function. Contribute ideas and support the implementation of more efficient and effective financial processes.

Essential knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in finance roles
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a team environment

  • Intermediate general ledger experience, PeopleSoft preferred

Travel:

  • 5%

Compensation (Inclusive of Base + Bonus):

  • $51,500 - $69,700
