Hannover Life Reassurance Company of America (Hannover Re) is currently seeking talented candidates for a full-time Senior Financial and Data Implementation Analyst position, within the CSS – Financial Reporting & Corp Acc department. Acts as finance system owner which includes serving as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization
 to provide technical solutions so that organizational initiatives are successfully achieved. Analyzes business partner’s data and operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to formulate improvement opportunities. Translates high-level business analysis and decision-making requirements into data stories, and collects necessary inputs to model, prototype, and clarify the impact of end-user requirements on upstream data sources and processes.  

Essential Functions

  • (45%) Special projects related to the Polaris project:  
    • Provide leadership and support on the implementation of Re7 (SAP) for the US companies as part of Project Polaris Phase II on assigned workstreams.  Collaborate with local and Hannover office team members to ensure successful migration of US treaties, administration, and financial data onto the Re7 platform. 
    • Upon completion of Phase II, this role will transition into the secondary key user. This role will serve as a local expert on SAP/Re7 and assist with training and support for the FRV and Corporate Accounting teams. 
  • (20%) Data Transfer Managment
    • Manage the daily process that transfers financial data between local and group finance systems, ensuring data integrity and completeness. This process applies to the TRS data sent to FS-RI,   LARS/PaPM data processed through the reverse utility into TRS and the local expense allocations sent to Consus from TRS via PaPM. 
      • Monitor automated processes, troubleshoot transfer errors, and ensure smooth flow of data across systems.
      • Oversee daily reconciliation ensuring information matches expected outcomes, investigating any discrepancies between systems and resolving inconsistencies promptly
      • Communicate overall data availability, quality, and readiness
      • Work closely with internal teams, including Finance, IT and other business departments, to ensure smooth operations. 
      • Maintain records for auditing and reference purposes
  • (15%) Finance System Owner
    • Maintain maps and Finance master data dimensions and hierarchies to integrate financial ledger and subledger data systems of record, Coordinates with process owners so that quarterly process is followed for system updates.
      • PeopleSoft – Maintain chart of accounts, reporting trees, combo edits, opening and closing 
        of monthly periods for all ledgers
      • TRS/FDR – Maintain financial reporting tables
      • US Tagetik – Maintain mapping tables
      • Decisions – Maintain account mapping tables
  • (10%) Financial system innovation and analysis
    • Leads and manages data analysis projects including preparation and delivery of various forms of data extracts, reports, queries, analysis, off-system, and process improvement solutions to support multiple functions in their quest for increased data quality and service. Uses a creative mindset to take a new perspective on existing solutions. Align to corporate standards of practice for data governance and master data management.

      Research complex issues shepherding them to successful closure to ensure stakeholders’ requirements are met. Utilizes tools such as data stories, data modeling, and prototypes of cleansing/integration and delivery.

  • (10%) Talent Development

    • Train and mentor team members and module owners (contract and embedded cross-functional team members) to ensure delivery of solutions as well as identify opportunities to cultivate talent.

Essential knowledge, skills and abilities

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related discipline and/or work experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of data analysis, report development and/or ad-hoc querying
  • Minimum 2 years life insurance industry experience
  • Possess specialized conceptual and practical knowledge and experience in business process and systems analysis including 5 or more years of relevant technical, testing, or business work experience.
  • Advanced analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to lead others to solve complex problems
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge (SQL, Database Environments, Dashboard Reporting Tools, Cloud-Based technologies) and ability to learn new tools and applications. 
  • General project management abilities, including an understanding of the project management framework, and ability to manage project tasks, budgets, and resources as assigned.
  • Ability to multi-task and juggle competing priorities; Works on multiple projects simultaneously as a project team member.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PC software: Excel, Word, Access, Visio, PowerPoint and Outlook

Desired knowledge, skills and abilities

  • FLMI, PMP or other industry certifications or classes
  • Experience in Agile project execution methodologies, tools and practices (Jira, etc.)
  • R, Python and other statistical programming languages
  • Knowledge of Hannover systems and processes
  • Familiarity with test management tools and best practices
  • Understanding of and ability to run reports in Hyperion and Business Objects

Travel:

  • 5% domestic travel including overnight stays

Total Compensation (Inclusive of Base + Bonus):

  • $103,600 - $140, 200
