Hannover Life Reassurance Company of America (Hannover Re) is currently seeking talented candidates for our open Sr Project Manager/AVP, Project Management Office position. Job Summary:

Provide leadership and oversight management to a staff of project managers and business analysts.  Provides project and business analysis leadership for key strategic and operational initiatives. Supports daily operations of the PMO including all aspects of governance.  This position also involves managing Strategic Spend project budgets and participating in Enterprise project budget forecasting. 

Essential Functions:

  • (60%) Responsible for planning, organizing, leading, and controlling (moderately complex to complex) projects within the portfolio, and with normally high impact or risk to the organization.
    Utilizes expertise and leadership skills to direct staff and to ensure that assigned projects produce required deliverables within the defined quality, time, and cost constraints, and facilitate full realization of expected project benefits.
    Develops project scope, cost and time estimates, cost-benefit analysis, project metrics, staffing requirements, reporting, and communication plans to meet project objectives and to satisfy the needs of sponsors, key stakeholders and customers.
    Monitors and tracks project status by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information, risks and trends. Initiates review or approve modifications to project plans, cost adjustments or resource additions to achieve expected project benefits.

  • (10%) Reviews HLR America’s current project management and business analysis processes and tools to identify and implement standardized best practices, with the key objective of creating capacity and enhancing the value that project management and business analysis provides to the organization.
  • (10%) Provides mentoring, coaching, and direction setting to Business Analysts and Project Managers, and deliver performance reviews to direct reports in order to optimize the PMO team and environment to meet global strategic objectives.

Essential knowledge skills and abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience with a minimum of 7 years of project management/business analysis experience.
  • Experience working with technical team(s) in planning, systems analysis, requirements definition, testing, and programming functions preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record of working on short-term and long-term strategic projects.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills. Ability to structure and create senior management level presentations, and converse with technical and non-technical people alike.
  • Proven track record of relationship building across organizational and reporting lines.
  • Experience with business planning and strong business and financial acumen.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, MS Project, VISIO, Excel, PowerPoint

Travel:

  • 10% - Domestic and international travel, including overnight stays

Total Compensation (Inclusive of Base + Bonus):

  • $130,100 - $186,000
