Hannover Life Reassurance Company of America (Hannover Re) is currently seeking talented candidates for a full-time Sr Reinsurance Treaty Specialist position, within the CSS – Legal department. Job Summary:

 

Prepares and reviews both assumed and retro treaties and amendments. Works closely with internal and external customers to ensure that the treaty documents are clear and consistent with the intent of the deal.  Maintains the Treaty Provision Database to provide support and information to internal and external customers.

 

 

Essential Functions:

 

(70%) Drafts and analyzes comprehensive reinsurance treaties, amendments and treaty-related documents to accurately describe the terms of the proposed deal and maintain compliance with corporate, industry and regulatory standards.  Works with both assumed and retro treaties.

 

(15%) Maintains the accuracy of the Treaty Provision Database by keeping the information current with new treaties and effecting changes made by amendment.  Assists in the on-going maintenance of the Treaty Provision Database, Treaty SharePoint site, I/M drive and Q drive folders to allow users the most current information available for download and viewing online.

 

(5%) Develops, maintains and distributes treaty management reports on a regular basis to fit the needs of our internal customers.  Runs ad-hoc reports as needed on all executed and pending treaty documents.  

 

(5%) Receives and processes audit requests from external parties as it relates to treaty confirmations and provides timely and accurate information.

 

(5%) Participates in or provides assistance with project work both within the department or companywide as needed to ensure that project resources are allocated appropriately and to provide accurate data.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • BA degree in Business, Marketing or related discipline and/or a minimum of 6 years equivalent work experience in the insurance industry
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of reinsurance and retrocession coverages and customary reinsurance contract provisions and language
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills

 

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • FMLI LOMA series designations
  • Intermediate to Advanced MS Office, Word, Excel, Access and Outlook skills

 

 

Travel:

  • 5% - Two two-day overnight trips to Orlando office and one annual two to three-day overnight trip for industry conference travel. 

 

Compensation (Inclusive of Base + Bonus):

  • $76,300 - $103,300
