Hannover Life Reassurance Company of America (Hannover Re) is currently seeking talented candidates for our open Sr Reinsurance Treaty Specialist position. Job Summary:Prepares and reviews reinsurance treaties and amendments ensuring that all documents reflect the negotiated terms of the agreement and align with corporate expectations. Works closely with internal and external customers to confirm that the treaty documents are clear, consistent, and operationally sound. Oversees accuracy and upkeep the Treaty Provision Database and related repositories so that users have access to reliable treaty information.

 

Essential Functions:

  • (70%) Drafts and analyzes reinsurance agreements, treaties, amendments and related documents to capture the terms of proposed transactions and ensure alignment with corporate, industry and regulatory standards (both assumed and retro treaties).

 

  • (15%) Maintains the accuracy of the Treaty Provision Database by updating entries for new treaties and incorporating amendment changes. Supports ongoing upkeep of the Treaty Provision Database, Treaty SharePoint site, I/M drive and shared folders to ensure users have access to current information.

 

  • (5%) Develops, maintains and distributes treaty management reports on a regular basis to meet the needs of internal customers. Produce ad hoc reports as needed on all executed and pending treaty documents. 

 

  • (5%) Receives and processes audit requests from external parties related to treaty confirmations and provides timely, accurate information.

 

  • (5%) Participates in or supports project work both within the department and across the company as needed to align resources and provide accurate data.

Essential knowledge skills and abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or legal studies, with five years equivalent experience in the insurance or legal industry.
  • Knowledge of contract provisions and the ability to interpret contractual language.
  • Contract drafting experience, including use of standardized language and creation of clear and precise terms.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

 

Desired knowledge skills and abilities:

  • Prior work experience in insurance, reinsurance, or legal profession.
  • Insurance, reinsurance, or legal industry professional designations Intermediate to advanced MS Office, Word, Excel, Access and Outlook skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail; Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.


Travel:

  • Less than 5%: Two two-day overnight trips to Orlando office and one annual two to three-day overnight trip for industry conference travel.

 

Compensation (Inclusive of Base + Bonus)

  • $80,900 - $109,500
