Job Summary:
A Senior Actuary is a non-rotational position outside of the Actuarial Development Program (“ADP”). The purpose of the role is to support the modelling function for certain Life Solutions Traditional business. Responsibilities include transitioning pricing models to valuation models; building and enhancing valuation models; developing, maintaining, and improving associated processes, tools and documentation; and maintaining strong model governance protocols.
Essential Functions:
(75%) Model Development:
- Deliver all material aspects of modelling function as it relates to certain Life Solutions Traditional business including:
- Conversion of new business pricing models to valuation models on a timely basis
- Ongoing enhancement and refinement of models with associated documentation and quantification of impact
- Address model issues raised by model validation processes
- Development and maintenance of tools and processes to track model function progress and accomplishments.
- Identify, implement and maintain strong model governance procedures including control framework and associated documentation.
- Establish and maintain effective and timely working relationships and processes between team and key stakeholders, particularly with pricing.
- Identify and implement enhancements to model handoff process to streamline process and optimize the use of company resources.
(15%) Ad-hoc modeling support:
- Serve as liaison for the corporate modeling team with respect to the actuarial infrastructure and modeling support system
- Support ad-hoc requests from our business partners including DAO, PAC, MRF, FRV, IFM
- Complete modelling related projects as assigned
(10%) Develop and Support CA staff and contractors:
- Help CA Staff achieve their personal professional goals
- Enhance technical skillset of CA team

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or related from an accredited college or university
- Fellow of the Society of Actuaries or Associate of the Society of Actuaries pursuing an FSA
- 5+ years of experience in an actuarial role
- Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Intermediate/Advanced skills in MS Office Suite: Excel
- Programming knowledge (SQL, Python, C++) or actuarial modelling software experience
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Actuarial modelling experience in Risk Agility
- Demonstrated effective cross functional relationship building with operations and inforce management teams.
- Working knowledge of Solvency II, IFRS17, and VM-20 valuation and related modelling requirements.
- Project management experience
Travel:
- 5% - domestic travel, including overnight stays
Compensation (Inclusive of Base + Bonus):
- $111,500 - $198,100
