At Life & Health Sweden, we are seeking a Java Programmer/Systems Developer to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the business to help enhance our client offerings in life reinsurance.
For the past 15 years, Hannover Re has been a trusted partner to our Nordic and Israeli clients, providing system support for the automated risk assessment of life insurance products. Now, we are looking for a developer to continue delivering top-notch service and drive future innovation for our clients.
As our new Programmer/System developer, you'll join a dedicated team focused on developing, customizing, and maintaining our automated risk assessment system. Your role will include writing new code, maintaining the codebase, and contributing to the implementation, testing and documentation process.
You’ll work with our custom editor and IDEs, collaborating with customers to translate business needs into technical solutions. We follow agile methods and use modern tools to deliver high-quality results.
This role involves close teamwork with colleagues in Stockholm, Germany, and global Hannover Re offices. You will also communicate with clients and business partners, with occasional travel to meet with them.
You come equipped with
- A university or college degree focused on system development, or equivalent education and work experience.
- Strong knowledge of agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and proficiency in Java, JavaScript, and Unix/Linux.
- Experience with automated software testing, particularly in continuous integration, is a plus (e.g., Cucumber/Gherkin, ISTQB certification).
- Familiarity with Jira/Confluence and requirements engineering is beneficial but not required.
- Fluent in both Swedish and English.
