We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Project Claims Consultant to join our Life & Health Subsidiary in Sydney.
About the role:
Reporting directly to the Technical Claims Manager, this fixed-term role is part of our Technical Claims team. As a Project Claims Consultant, you will support cedants by assessing and managing claims within a defined project, ensuring all claims are handled in line with LICOP, relevant legislation and policy/treaty conditions, while delivering high-quality outcomes for claimants and clients
You can look forward to
- Reviewing and providing in-depth analysis of Income Protection and TPD claims
- Managing claims within the project in line with LICOP, cedant philosophy and policy terms
- Supporting effective and sustainable return-to-work outcomes for claimants
- Monitoring compliance with risk, regulatory and customer service standards
- Providing reporting, insights, and trend analysis on project performance
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. AFCA, medical professionals, investigators, underwriters)
- Contributing to process improvements across claims management for cedants
- Delivering client training where required
- Participating in claims forums and complex case discussions
- Identifying risks and opportunities and escalating to management as needed
You come equipped with
- Strong technical experience in Income Protection and TPD claims (at least 8 years)
- Working knowledge of LICOP and the legal framework for Life Insurance claims
- Experience with rehabilitation referrals and return-to-work strategies
- Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making capability
- Experience in claims auditing, reporting and trend analysis
- Ability to manage stakeholder relationships (internal, clients, and third parties)
- ALUCA Accreditation
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
