Hannover Re (Bermuda) Ltd. is currently seeking candidates for our open Technical Financial Accountant position. This is a Full-Time role within the Technical Accounting P&C team. This position will be responsible for carrying out various aspects of the accounting function such as IFRS reporting and financial management. The employee shall also undertake such additional or other duties as the Company may reasonably require from time to time.
Main Responsibilities:
- Oversee the clear cash and receivable control accounts and work to resolve any accounting discrepancies or unresolved items.
- Effectively manage the settlements process to ensure compliance with various reinsurance agreements and sanctions regulations in accordance with agreed guidelines.
- Ensure all technical bookings are accurately processed in accordance with IFRS and Bermuda statutory requirements.
- Follow the internal control framework, including documentation requirements and suggest changes to achieve efficiencies where appropriate.
- Managing the process of intercompany reconciliation and reporting as well as the quarterly closing.
- Provide accounting support to internal stakeholders and effectively manage deliverables.
- Work collaboratively in a team environment assisting and mentoring junior members of the team.
- Participate in ad-hoc reporting and project work on behalf of the Company as required.
Requirements:
- Professional accounting designation such as CA, CPA or equivalent.
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant post-qualification experience with accounting and reporting in an international (re)insurance environment.
- Experience of developing and maintaining successful client relationships.
- Ability to work independently with minimum oversight and demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills in assigned technical areas.
- Strong computer knowledge including financial based accounting and IT packages such as SAP and Power BI.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong analytic skills and great attention to detail.
- Highest level of integrity and commitment to achieving goals.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
