In Bermuda, the core subsidiary Hannover Re (Bermuda) Ltd. is a BMA regulated dual license reinsurer and has a focus on property catastrophe reinsurance contracts, mainly on an excess of loss basis, as well as on life & health business, mainly financial solutions. We offer reinsurance capacity on a global basis with more than USD 1.9 billion of gross reinsurance revenues.

We are currently seeking applicants for our UNDERWRITING INTERNSHIP position. We are looking for talented, motivated university students who strive for academic excellence and are eager to gain hands-on experience. Over the course of eight weeks, you’ll work alongside experienced professionals and receive guidance from a dedicated mentor who will coach you throughout the program.

 

This year, we have exciting opportunities for three interns in the following teams:

  • Business Development & Corporate Actuarial
  • Underwriting
  • Finance

Program Description & Length

  • The program is designed to give Bermudian university students and those with permission to work in Bermuda (e.g. PRC Holders) hands-on work experience in an area of interest.
  • This year, we will seek to place three interns in the organization who will work alongside a knowledgeable professional and a dedicated mentor.
  • The program will last for 8 weeks running between June and August. There is some flexibility around the period as we try to accommodate school breaks.
  • We aspire to give all eligible participants the opportunity to build a relationship with the Company. Our Company also gets the benefit of guiding the Interns with the aim of continuing the relationship post-graduation leading into future employment discussions.
