Actuarial Analyst
If you want to experience how things are done in the Finance & Corporate Actuarial team at our Hong Kong Branch, join us on a permanent, full-time basis commencing at the earliest possible date as an Actuarial Analyst.
You can look forward to
- Performing valuation processes for Solvency or IFRS reporting, in accordance with established methodologies, assumptions, and internal guidelines.
- Analyzing and interpreting results to provide clear, meaningful insights for various stakeholders, investigating anomalies, trends, or inconsistencies as needed
- Supporting the review and setting of actuarial assumptions, including review of experience analysis and contributing to assumption governance processes and enhancing actuarial models.
- Reviewing and validating data from cedants to ensure compliance with contract terms; resolve discrepancies or unusual patterns.
- Collaborating with internal teams—including accounting, underwriting, and fellow actuaries—to ensure data integrity and accuracy across core databases.
- Proposing and executing improvements to actuarial processes, reporting tools, and documentation standards
- Handling ad hoc requests and/or other actuarial/database projects as required
You come equipped with
- Degree holder in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related discipline
- Around 3 years of relevant actuarial experience preferred; less experienced candidates might be considered.
- Progress in actuarial examinations with a recognized professional body (e.g. SOA, IFoA, CAS) is an advantage
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SQL; knowledge of other programming languages (e.g. Python, R) is a plus
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Good interpersonal skills, a collaborative mindset, and a proactive attitude
- Execellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese as the role requires liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
